There have been a number of August dates for potential Xiaomi announcements swirling around recently. We just reported that today could see the unveiling of the first "made in India" Redmi 2 Prime, while the official date for the unveiling of the next MIUI iteration has been oscillating between August 13 and 16, or even August 4th that already passed.
Well, it seems that neither of these dates is correct, as Xiaomi itself is teasing an August 19th announcement in India, and it is precisely centered around the seventh edition of the popular MIUI coat of paint for Android. Actually, the August 13th date was correct, but that will be only for the Chinese ROM version, while August 19th will see Hugo Barra talk about the international MIUI 7 offshoot.
As per the company itself: "Some users might be confused about the MIUI 7 launch schedules. For your information, MIUI 7 China ROM will be introduced in China on August 13, and MIUI 7 Global ROM with tailored features for global fans will be unveiled on August 19 in India." There you have it, save the date, and imagine all the new stuff that MIUI 7 will bring to the table of an already great Android overlay.
