Xiaomi Mi Note 2 live images show off the phone's curves
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is expected to be unveiled on October 25th. Following the leak of PowerPoint presentation slides that we passed along to you earlier today (which gave us a treasure trove of specs to show you), some new live images of the phablet have been discovered on Weibo. The new images show off the dual-curved edge screen on the front of the phone. What we don't see is the back of the device where a dual camera setup resides. Both the 23MP and 12MP snappers are using Sony sensors (IMX318 and IMX378 respectively). An 8MP camera adorns the front of the phone to shoot selfies and handle video chats.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 carries a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Force Touch and a 1440 x 2560 resolution. The Snapdragon 821 SoC provides a quad-core CPU and the Adreno 530 GPU. One model features 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. Another variant comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of flash storage. A 4100mAh battery powers the unit, with Quick Charge rapid charging capabilities included. An ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is found under the display, and an iris scanner is thrown in for good measure.

Without a doubt, this is Xiaomi's most ambitious handset ever. And don't forget, CEO Lei Jun has promised that the Mi Note 2 will come with a surprise. The model with 4GB of RAM is said to be priced at the equivalent of $415 USD, while the unit with 6GB of RAM might cost you the equivalent of $455 USD.

Not good for Sammy. They have exploding batteries and their unique feature is no longer unique.

Yeah, not good. They must really hate making money selling displays. Since Apple's unique feature doesn't exist, I'm sure they will be happy when they start to buy them too.

Their unique feature of having curved edges is a useless and annoying "feature". It looks cool, but that's it. Didn't take long for me to regret the S7 Edge because of this. Plus, getting tempered glass screen protectors that work with curved glass is damn near impossible, and the plastic ones peel up on the curved edges. NO other company should be imitating this awful design.

well mi note 2's screen was going to be produced by LG or Samsung (turned out made only by LG). AFAIK Samsung also has given permission to Xiaomi. So no s7e wannabe but rather n7 alternative at first.

S7 Edge replica? Atleast something to boost the morale of Sammy during these bad days.

This couldn't be more of a Note 7 clone from the curves to the Iris scanner to the button at the bottom of the chin. It looks gorgeous like the Note 7 and I really want it after having to give mine up :( Being in the US, I dont know what kind of options would be available for this device, assuming the bands for my carrier are even an option.

Why would anyone want to get a Samsung or other big name phone and pay probably 2.5x more for it than this phone?? Heck, it seems to have specs just as good or better than those phones.

The 2 ugly things about this phone are the logo placement in bottom right and the finger reader placement in the bottom edge if both were placed in the back that would have been better and would be a little different from Samsung design. I always disliked the Mi logo placement in their devices

the MI logo is only in their flagships tho. Their redmi variant doesnt have it.

The Mi Logo is not on the bottom right but rather on the top left, like all Mi Flagships. (The pic is of the upside down phone..!! LOL). Also the Fingerprint Sensor/ Scanner is at the home button in the middle on the bottom bezel/chin. Ala Samsung S7 Edge or Note 7 or Mi 5.
