Verizon updates its Equipment Guide; Samsung GALAXY Nexus now scheduled for December 9th launch
An updated version of Verizon's Equipment Guide for the Samsung GALAXY Nexus has been leaked and it confirms that the first Android 4.0 device will launch on December 9th. One thing that remains up in the air is price although the Wall Street Journal has reported that the phone will launch for $299.99 with a signed 2-year contract.

Just to reiterate, the Samsung GALAXY Nexus features a 4.65 inch curved HD Super AMOLED display with resolution of 720p. Under the hood os a dual-core 1.2GHz TI OMAP 4460 processor with 1GB of RAM aboard. 32GB of native storage comes on the device out of the box as there is no microSD slot on the handset. A 5MP camera with LED flash is on back, capturing video 1080p video at 30 fps. The 1.3 MP front-facing camera is great for self portraits and video chat.

With only Wednesday and Thursday remaining until December 9th, Verizon is going to have to amp things up to get the Samsung GALAXY Nexus launched without a hitch on Friday. There have been some things taking place above the radar screen, and others that have been done on the QT. All together, it adds up to a pretty exciting Friday coming for those looking to buy the GALAXY Nexus specifically, and all Stateside smartphones fans generally.
