Verizon pushes out Android 5.1.1 and Stagefright fixes to Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge and Tab 4 10.1
Verizon is sending out Android 5.1.1 and fixes for the Stagefright Exploit to its version of the Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 edge and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1. For the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, the update allows you to use Caller Name ID if you have Advanced Calling enabled. With this feature, you can identify who is calling you, giving you the ability to screen calls. The update also gives you the ability to turn off the parallax "Wallpaper motion effect" if it is making you dizzy. It also gives you more wallpaper options to choose from for your lock screen wallpaper.

The update to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 adds the Lollipop based Material Design to the tablet, contains the security patch to protect against Stagefright, and includes a reactivation lock. With this feature, someone who finds or steals the tablet won't be to able to pull off a factory reset until the rightful owner signs into his Samsung account first. The update brings a brighter looking theme to the slate, along with the new "Recent Apps" page. Lock Screen notifications are also added as are Floating Action buttons.

Because the update is being disseminated to all three devices OTA, they are sent out on a staggered basis. If you don't receive the update today, perhaps it will come tomorrow, or the next day. Be patient and before you know it, you will receive the notification alerting you that the update is here. When it does come, you should be on a Wi-Fi connection before beginning the updating process, and make sure your battery is charged to at least 50% before downloading and installing the update.
