Verizon's Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are getting Android Oreo updates

If you own a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8+, we’re glad to inform you that your smartphone is being officially updated to Android Oreo! Verizon Wireless is rolling out the updates starting today, March 15, but some users might have to wait a few days before getting it.

The updates bring Android Oreo 8.0 (not the newer 8.1) to the Galaxy S8 series, although users will probably not be too sad about this - after all, Verizon is the very first US carrier to deliver Oreo to its Galaxy S8 and S8+. The updates for both the S8 and S8+ unsurprisingly include the Samsung Experience 9.0 interface that comes pre-installed with Oreo on the new Galaxy S9 and S9+.

You can find more information about the Android Oreo update for the Galaxy S8 family at Verizon’s support webpages - see the source links below. Most likely, Verizon is about to update its Galaxy Note 8 to Oreo as well, although, for now, there’s no word on exactly when this will happen.
