Verizon starts offering the Fossil Gen 5 LTE smartwatch with monthly plans

Fossil's new Gen 5 LTE smartwatch is now available for purchase from Verizon. Not only that, but customers who buy it will get a $150 discount if they purchase a smartphone to go along with the Fossil Gen 5 LTE.

The $150 off deal is only available online and requires the purchase of a smartphone with 24 monthly payments on any plan. Also, the LTE-enabled smartwatch can be bought with any Verizon plan.

Fossil's smartwatch is available in two color options – black and pink and costs $350 or $14.54/month. Keep in mind that if you purchase a smartphone or smartwatch online you get $20 off your $40 activation fee.

The Gen 5 LTE smartwatch promises up to 20 hours of usage time or up to 3 days of standby time. It's very little, but that's standard for full-fledged smartwatches. Specs-wise, Fossil's smartwatch features a 1.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen, 1GB RAM, and 8GB internal memory.

Also, the wearable device is powered by a 400 mAh battery and runs Wear OS. Unfortunately, even though the smartwatch was recently released, it comes equipped with an old Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset.
