  • EA Mobile acquires all rights to the Worms games series. New  instalments to the series for all modern platforms can be expected to roll out soon enough, although we are especially interested in versions for smartphones, since the latter have managed to become a pretty lucrative niche of the games market recently, meaning the number of available titles is increasing rapidly.   • Huawei shows working technology that allows for download speed of 600Mb/s over LTE networks. The company may not be extremely successful with its range of cell phones really, but certainly is a leader in telecommunications and has been investing vast amounts of resources into new generation technologies.   • NEC  is developing a quad-core Cortex-A9 processor. It will run at speeds greater than 1GHz and allow for integration of dedicated PowerVR graphics chip to handle heavier applications and 3D games properly. (source: EE Times)

  • PhotoTranslator allows the Nokia N900 to translate text in pictures. Google Goggles will offer similar functionality to Android-based handsets, but the technology is now fully operational for cell phones running Maemo OS. (source: DailyMobile)
