The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 have vanished from Samsung's software support page. This marks the end of the line for these two devices, with no Android updates or security patches ahead.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are now obsolete

The third iteration of Samsung's foldable flagships launched back in 2021, more than five years ago.

The devices brought some needed upgrades at the time, especially the Z Fold 3 with its IPX8 water resistance, S Pen support, and 120 Hz outer display.

The time has come, however, to say goodbye to the Z Fold 3 and the Z Flip 3, as Samsung committed to only 4 major Android updates and 5 years of security patches for the now-aging foldables.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 switch to quarterly updates

The next in line are the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4, both now appearing in the quarterly updates section of the software support page.

Samsung keeps new devices updated on a monthly basis, while older and soon-to-be-obsolete models are switched to a three-month update cycle.

Owners of the aforementioned foldables have about a year to consider upgrading, as the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 will receive their last security patches around the same time next year.
