T-Mobile and Sprint Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ receive update for Bixby, SD cards and more

T-Mobile and Sprint subscribers rocking the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ are starting to receive an update that has two main features according to its changelist. One is an update for the Bixby app, and the second provides more stability for SD cards. Before you get carried away, the update did not launch Bixby Voice, although it could have deposited certain files on the two handsets that are required for its eventual release. The most recently rumored time frame for the appearance of Bixby Voice is late this month.

Those who downloaded the update report that Bixby Vision and Reminders now include shortcuts at the top of the screen. Besides the latter, and the improvements made for SD card stability, the update also includes the May Android security parch.

No matter which carrier is connected to your Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+, once you receive the notification that the update has arrived, make sure that you are connected to a Wi-Fi network before proceeding with the installation of the new files. At the same time, make sure that the battery on your phone is fully charged. The update includes software version G950USQU1AQEF (Galaxy S8) or G955USQU1AQEF (Galaxy S8+). Both updates weigh in at 375.60 MB.

Bixby is unnecessary when Google Assistant is available. Samsung should give users a CHOICE.

Siri is unnecessary when Cortana is available. Apple should give users a CHOICE. The statement above is every bit as ridiculous as yours, thought I'd let you see the light.

Your salty reply doesn't even make sense. First, Cortana can't do many things that Siri can, because Siri works with everything Apple/iOS. Second, Bixby isn't even as good as S-voice was, so sure, if you want to enjoy not using voice commands, by all means, use Bixby. Now YOU see the light, so go away and never comment again.

Well i dont use assistants ebough to care is I can use my voice or not. But here is where i make you look stupid. Most programs in 1.0 stage, tend to have limited capabilities. So have your stupid dun comparing a software, that has been available fir several years and has had time to mature a bit, to an app that just came out a few mobths ago. As i recall, Siri had kimited capabilities, even though it was an app in the app store. There are things all of them can do or a t tbat another may or may not be able to do. So what! My phone can do lits of thibgs ylur cant, and that list is far greater, than a y list you coukd possibly come up with if you are an iPhone user. But is that really worth debating or a need to state tge obvious. Even though Bixby is new, it dows things Siri cant do and Siri is older. So your argumwnt holds no merit, and you should find the shadow under tbat rock, comforting.

Dude PLEASE have some teach you how to type/spell, or whatever! That being said, I'll address your long winded rant; Samsung BOUGHT Viv Labs. Viv Labs created Siri. Nearly seven years ago. Let that sink in, seven years ago. Now, in the interim, Viv Labs kept working on voice assistance. Fast forward to Samsung buying Viv Labs, and Samsung jettisons Viv Labs top talent. Not a good move, because Samsungs internal teams are (quite obviously) unable to figure out how to get Bixby even remotely functional. Keep in mind, Bixby was made using already existing technology, it's not new in any sense of the word. No charge for today's lesson, kid.

"Dude PLEASE have some teach you how to type/spell, or whatever!" Pot meet kettle, kettle meet pot.

It was osmosis that caused that error. Totally my fault for reading his rant, I suppose.

If you call that owning, then you really have mental problems LOL. Must be sad having Apple fanboyism as a full time job.

actually, your missing a word after making fun of someone for auto correct in speech, anyways, viv labs was a creator in siri and siri was based off of an old voice system called vlingo it was their algorithm that allowed siri to come to fruition. now lets take the 2nd main point you said viv kept working on voice to text and dictation but was never setup for Android or Samsung's code, but apple has full control off its os and should be the best since its siri code on apple code not like viv code on google and samsung os/code you have to remember Samsung's os is basically an interwoven theme on top/in android

Bixby is planned to do many things on roll out that Google Assistant can't do. Where's the difference here in your Cortana vs Siri comparison?

Where is this magical Bixby? Seems to exist only in the imagination of Samsung fanboys.

"Second, Bixby isn't even as good as S-voice was, so sure, if you want to enjoy not using voice commands, by all means, use Bixby." Hey, Bixby is a newly created assistatnt, so it is in it's beta form currently, just like how Siri was when it launched. Bixby and S-Voice aren't same, so comparison between both isn't accurate.

everything your salty apple rootz said was pointless and incorrect cortana is on pc and phones and can do more than siri. next s-voice is not even close to bixby

There is one new feature: In the pulldown list of apps, if you drag a message to the right, you see a cog that lets you do things to it.

Look on YouTube for the Bixby video in Korean with subtitles. Once Bixby is fully functional it will destroy all ai assistances in existence. If you haven't seen the video then don't spew hate... Go watch the video first.
