Sony Xperia Z3 officially launches in Canada on October 31
Sony today announced that its Xperia Z3 will be released in Canada on the very last day of this month (October 31). The flagship smartphone will be widely available across Canada, landing at Rogers, Bell, Telus, Wind Mobile, MTS, and SaskTel. If that’s not enough, customers will also be able to find the handset at Sony Stores.

Pricing details haven't been revealed, but you should expect to pay about $600 (or more) for an unlocked Z3.

The Xperia Z3 is thinner and faster than Sony’s previous flagship (the Z2), while also offering a better camera, and an improved 5.2-inch 1080p display. Moreover, the new smartphone has a higher dust- and water-resistance rating: IP68. You can find out much more about the device by reading our Sony Xperia Z3 review.

Sony didn’t say if the Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact would also be released in Canada. However, both are listed over at Sony Canada’s official website, so we assume they’ll be available there at some point.

Another new Sony smartphone that’s headed to Canada is the more affordable Xperia M2 Aqua. This should go on sale tomorrow, October 2, though only Videotron will have it for the beginning.

Later this month, on October 9, Sony will host a press event in New York City, where it’ll most likely reveal details about the availability of the Xperia Z3 line in the US. All in all, it looks like Sony is finally getting serious about launching smartphones in North America - and that's a good thing, both for the company, and consumers.
