Sony Xperia Z3 captured on video with Android 5.1.1 running the show
The Sony Xperia Z3 was updated to Android 5.0.2 in March, well after many competitors' phones were Lollipopped. But it looks like Sony might not be wasting time with Android 5.1.1, which was seen running the D6603 version of Sony's current flagship phone in a video that was posted to social media.

Android 5.1.1 is expected to bring new animations and a feature that will allow you to find a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection directly from the Quick Settings menu. Speaking of Quick Settings, fresh new icons grace the page.

Sony has been characteristically tight-lipped about its schedule for rolling out Android 5.1 for its Xperia Z line-up. With the video though, it does appear that the manufacturer has been testing the new Android build on its current and former flagship models. For example, Android 5.1.1. was recently spotted on the Sony Xperia Z2 (D6503).

In Australia, mobile operator Telstra reported that a build of Android 5.1.1 it tested for the Sony Xperia Z, Sony Xperia Z1 and Sony Xperia Z1 Compact suffered from "showstopping issues," and will be resubmitted for testing on July 10th. Telstra hopes to push out Android 5.1.1 to those models in August.

Thanks for the tip!
