The Sony Xperia Z boasts a 13-megapixel camera with the new Exmor RS sensor and back-side illumination. That is supposed to bring superior detail and low-light performance, and while we’ve already taken a look at the Xperia Z's shooter, new camera comparisons fare it against some older but still great devices.

A cameraphone shootout wouldn’t be complete without the Nokia 808 PureView with its massive sensor, the Nokia N8 with Xenon flash and also a huge 12-megapixel camera, and the Nokia Lumia 920 with its optical image stabilization and improved low-light capabilities.
