Sony Xperia XZ and XZs receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update

3comments
After Xperia XZ Premium, two other Sony smartphones are getting Android 8.0 Oreo update, the standard Xperia XZ and Xperia XZs. Both were launched about a year ago and will probably receive one more major Android OS update next year if Sony wants to keep them relevant.

If you own either of the two smartphones, then you should be looking for a new software update with firmware version 41.3.A.0.401, which weighs in at around 1.2GB.

As mentioned by Sony, the update includes Reminders, very useful for unfinished work, as well as Xperia Actions, suggested settings based on your usage. Then, there's App Shortcuts, Smart text selection, and Autofill.

Aside from all the new features and improvements in the Android 8.0 Oreo, Sony also included the November security patch, so Xperia XZ and XZs should be up to date when it comes to security.

In the same piece of news, there's a high chance that the next Sony smartphone to receive Android 8.0 Oreo is the Xperia X Performance. Hopefully, that will happen by the end of the year.
