Samsung Galaxy Spica i5700 to get Android 2.1 by 2nd quarter?
Launched last November, the Samsung Galaxy Spica i5700 was the manufacturer's second Android phone for the European market. The handset came equipped with Android 1.5 and we recently informed you that an upgrade to 2.0 would be happening this month. According to Polish web site Telix.pl, that info is completely wrong. The i5700 will actually get upgraded to Android 2.1 in Q2 according to that site, which says that the news has been confirmed by Samsung Poland.  So actually, the news is even better than expected. The upgrade to 2.1 is expected to be part of the Samsung Kies software suite that can be obtained from the Samsung Apps application store.
