Samsung Galaxy J6 Prime dummy unit confirms side-mounted fingerprint reader
The Samsung Galaxy J6 Prime, which will be known as the J6+ in certain markets, is set to hit shelves across the globe sometime later this month. And following a 360-degree render that was released last week, new dummy units of the smartphone backup the leaked design.

Following in the footsteps of Samsung’s most recent smartphones, the Galaxy J6 Prime is expected to boast a 6-inch Infinity Display complete with a 1520 x 720p resolution. Naturally, this means there won’t be a physical home button up front. In terms of the rear, a relatively small dual-camera setup is positioned towards the middle of the panel and adopts a rectangular shape. Next to this, an LED flash can be seen, while below is the typical Samsung branding.

Moving on to the smartphone’s frame, the bottom of the smartphone includes an outdated micro-USB port alongside a small microphone and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Continuing up the smartphone's sides, the left is home to two separate volume keys, while on the right is a side-facing speaker. Interestingly enough, the Galaxy J6 Prime is also set to be Samsung’s first smartphone with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner that unsurprisingly doubles as a power button.

When it comes to the device’s release, no exact date has been confirmed as of yet. However, the launch should coincide with the upcoming Galaxy J4 Prime which, much like its bigger sibling, will also be known as the Galaxy J4+ in certain markets.
