Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) starts getting Android 7.0 Nougat update

The Galaxy A5 (2016) is one of the many Samsung devices expected to receive Android 7.0 Nougat by the end of the year. It also might be the first mid-range smartphone to get the update since Samsung only took care of former flagships like the Galaxy S7/S7 edge, Galaxy S6/S6 edge, and Galaxy Note 5.

The good news is Samsung timidly starts pushing the update to other smartphones such as the Galaxy A5 (2016). One user in Russia claims he already managed to successfully capture the update via OTA, and he's also got a video to prove it.

If you happen to own a Galaxy A5 (2016) and you live in Russia, you might want to look for a new update with firmware version A510FXXU4CQDK. The update is not available through Samsung Smart Switch, so the only way to get it is via OTA.

Even though we expect Samsung to continue the rollout of the update to other countries in the coming weeks, we don't know how long it will take for it to propagate to all Galaxy A5 (2016) units.
