Report: Three new Apple iPhone variants coming in 2013, including 4.8 inch model
Asia is the source of an interesting rumor involving the Apple iPhone. Upstream supply chain sources told China Times (through the BrightWire news service) that Apple will introduce three new variants of the Apple iPhone in 2013. Two of the models will be released in June with the third
due out later in the year. As usual with such a high-profile rumor, we suggest that you take this with the "proverbial grain of salt."

The story is that this June, Apple will release two versions of the Apple iPhone. One will be the 7th-generation model, or in other words, the sequel to the Apple iPhone 5. Apparently, this will be called the Apple iPhone 5S. At the same time, a 4.8 inch version of the device will be released called the Apple iPhone Math. Both will feature an 8MP camera produced by Largan Precision. Eight million camera lens supposedly have been ordered by Apple for both phones.

And then, sometime before the 2013 holiday season, Apple will introduce a version of its smartphone with a 12MP camera on back. That is the only spec known about this model.

According to the rumor, components such as touchscreen displays and cameras will allegedly start shipping in March with production beginning in April. Foxconn will be responsible for the assembly of 90% of the units to be produced. According to well-sourced analyst analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the next Apple iPhone will include a fingerprint scanner that will be built right into the home button. He also expects a low-priced version of the phone in the third quarter to be made of polycarbonate, resemble the Apple iPhone 5 in design, and come in 6 colors.
