The rugged Poptel P60 comes drop-tested and feature-rich at a great value

Poptel's newest rugged phone, the P60, aims to take on the "Active" Galaxies and other toughies of this world by offering great specs for the price, and a few stand-out features make it one of the most well-rounded endurance athletes to set your eyes on. The customized interface includes extra security and privacy features and the phone has push-to-talk option without unlocking the display.

First off, the Poptel P60 sports the all-important MIL-SPEC 810G and IP68 certifications that seal its drop-tested and water-tight fate for the initiated. For the rugged phone novice users, Poptel explains that it has built the P60 around a sturdy metal frame with plastic corner edges and suspending bumpers that keep the internals safer on impact, while a protective texture at the rear adds extra fall insurance. The phone can be submerged in up to five feet of water for an hour, and the screen's touch layer works with wet hands, too.

When it comes to the actual specs, the 5.7" 1080p display coupled with a giant 5000 mAh battery and fast charging, promise close to two days of battery life which is important for a weekend camping warrior. The only ho-hum part is the octa-core Helio P23 chipset which sits decidedly in the upper mid-range, but it is paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage to soothe your hardcore gaming blues. Poptel has also outfitted the phone with more LTE bands than usual, to the tune of 31 global frequencies, so that it has more chances to work on your carrier network with its maximum download speeds.

A dual 16MP+5MP camera sits on the back with intelligent scene recognition and other niceties like slow-motion effects. The front-facing kit with an 8MP selfie shooter can be used for face unlocking, in addition to the secured access via a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, too. On the right, Poptel provided a dedicated camera button for those gloves-on moments in the wilderness. As can be expected from a toughie with 5000 mAh battery, the P60 is on the largish and heavy side, but at the suggested $259.99 retail price all such points are rendered moot for what the phone offers.

Poptel is even running a pre-order promo that brings the price down to $219.99, with an additional $20 knocked off if you use coupon code: POPTELP60 for the November 12-19 period. After November 19, the price goes to the $259.99 MSRP, so head over to the link below if you are in the market for a rugged and enduring phone that won't break your piggy bank.
