Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL images surface two days before unveiling

Tipster extraordinaire Evan Blass had disseminated pictures of the Pixel 2 XL earlier today. Now, he has sent out a tweet that combines the earlier images of the Google Pixel 2 XL with photos showing the Google Pixel 2. The Pixel 2 is produced by HTC, the company that delivered both original Pixel handsets last year. The larger Pixel 2 XL is LG's baby. The pair will be unveiled on Wednesday, October 4th, live streamed over YouTube beginning at Noon EDT.

The Pixel 2 is expected to come to market priced at $649 (64GB of storage) and $749 (128GB of storage). The 5-inch display features a 1080 x 1920 resolution, with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The Pixel 2XL has thinner bezels all around, but the 6-inch screen will not give you that edge-to-edge look seen with other phones like the Essential Phone, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Samsung Galaxy S8+.  The screen's resolution weighs in at 1440 x 2880 (QHD+) and the aspect ratio of 18:9 matches the ratio seen on several 2017 high-end phones. Pricing for the Pixel 2 XL is rumored to be $849 (64GB of storage) and $949 (128GB of storage).

The overall look of both phones, especially the back of each unit, marks them as being Pixels even though this year's models are made by two different companies.
