Office for Android getting some nifty new features in July

1comment

Microsoft has just unveiled plans for a new Office update that will arrive during the month of July on Android devices. Well, technically, there will be more than one updates since Office is now split in multiple apps: Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, and Word.

In any case, Microsoft announced that the first new features it readies for Office users on Android have already been pushed to the Insider ring. If you're part of the Office Insider program, then you should be getting a couple of new features in the next few days. Otherwise, you'll just have to wait for the testing to end.

Among the new changes confirmed by Microsoft, it's worth mentioning the option to add, change, delete, or reply to comments in a presentation device. The new functionality will be added to the PowerPoint app for Android sometime this month.

On the other hand, Word users will be getting Copy and Paste formatting so that they can copy that, not just text, in their documents. Also, Word will receive a new feature that will allow users to quickly find a text from a PDF and copy it in their documents.

Last but not least, Custom margins is another Word-related new feature that enables users to set the margins in their documents to be exactly as they want them to be.

Once again, all these new features have been pushed to participants in the Office Insider program, and are likely to be available to everyone in July.
