Nokia Asha 501 picture and specs leak prior to Thursday's unveiling
With Nokia having scheduled a press event for Thursday, the smart money has been betting on a new phone in the Nokia Asha lineup. The event is taking place in India and the Finnish manufacturer just teased the event with the musical question, "Ready to add some color to your week?" That question makes plenty of sense when you look at a photo tweeted by reliable leaker evleaks.
According to the tweet, tomorrow will see the introduction of the Nokia Asha 501. The pictures of the device show it available in six different colors, black, white, greed, yellow, blue and red. And while evleaks took care of the looks, the specs of the device also leaked. The budget smartphone has a 3.5 inch AMOLED display with HVGA resolution (320 x 480). A 1GHz processor is under the hood while 512MB of RAM is on board. A 5MP camera with AF is on back and while there is no dual SIM or GPS on the device, there is 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity. Powered by S40, the phone will cost 7,000 to 8,000 INR ($150 USD).
