Nokia teases upcoming phone, possibly new Asha model

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's... something yellow and it's definitely not Superman. Actually, we don't really know what that thing is, at least not for now. The cryptic image you see above was posted on Nokia's official blog this morning along with the following clue: "Ready to add some colour to your week?". Furthermore, the blog post reminds us of the special event that Nokia has scheduled for Thursday.

Nokia did not give us any further hints, but we think we know what the mysterious image is related to. Since Nokia's event will take place in New Delhi, India, it seems reasonable to believe that we are probably going to be introduced to a new Nokia Asha model or two, which will be available in a multitude of colors. In fact, Stephen Elop himself stated that new Ashas were right around the corner, and who knows, that oval shape in the image above could very well be its home button.

Our guess is that the upcoming Nokia Asha model will have a touchscreen display since a QWERTY phone – the Nokia Asha 210, is already official. The new handset may actually look a lot like one of the conceptual Nokia devices that leaked earlier this year. But that's just us speculating. The truth will be revealed tomorrow, May 9, at 12:00PM New Delhi time.
