Nokia 5800 XpressMusic accounts for 20% of all touchscreen phones sold in Q1
Hey, we knew that the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic was big with customers in spite of the reported issues, but its sales surpassed even our expectations. It now seems that the first S60 touchscreen phone accounts for about 20% of all touchscreen handsets sold during Q1 2009. And this is far from being off the record, we are talking official figures here coming from non other but Nokia’s CEO, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo himself. This looks like a tremendous success, having in mind that this is Nokia’s first attempt in the world of smart, touch-sensitive devices. Still, we just need to say that the manufacturer is smart enough to offer the 5800 XpressMusic at affordable price, allowing users to have a stylish and fully-functional touchscreen smartphone without breaking the bank. Congratulations, Nokia! We are sure that at Nokia hope the upcoming N97 even doubles the 5800 XpressMusic sales! Actually, we highly doubt that, but let’s not give credit where credit is due.
