Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P could start shipping on October 25th, pre-orders live at Google Store
A promotion being run by Google to entice consumers into pre-ordering the Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P, is actually hinting at an October 25th shipping date for both stock Android phones. Those who order either Nexus device from the Google Store by October 25th, will receive a $50 Google Play credit once the phone ships. Since this appears to be an incentive for consumers to pre-order either handset, it would certainly make sense for the end of the promotion to coincide with the initial shipping date for the phones.

The Google Store has started accepting pre-orders for both handsets. The Nexus 5X, built by LG (its third Nexus handset after the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5) is available in Carbon, Quartz and Ice. The 16GB model is $379, while the 32GB unit will cost you $429. Nexus Protect insurance is available for $69. The phone will leave the warehouse in three to four weeks, which dovetails with the October 25th rumored shipping date.

The Nexus 6P, produced by Huawei (making its debut as a Nexus manufacturer) is available in Aluminum and Graphite. The 32GB model is $499, the 64GB version is $549, while the 128GB option is $649. While the Google Store has the 32GB Nexus 6P leaving the warehouse in four to five weeks, and the other two models leaving in five to six weeks, it all does seem to tie in to Google's original announcement that the phones would launch "later in October." The Nexus Protect plan for this model is $89.

Already preordered my 64gb 6P in Frost White with the Nexus Protect plan. Total price with shipping was $668.74. Not a bad tab at all.

It really is a great price for a genuinely premium phone. Less than a comparable iPhone or Note (and the Nexus Protected plan adds a lot of value).

I agree. I had been waiting on this announcement to see if I should just keep rocking my 64gb Nexus 6 through the Blackberry Priv launch, but after seeing this I had to take the plunge. My Note 4 is on ice right now, so I may just give that to one of my little cousins and rock the 6P and the Priv when it drops.

The wait is lame. Almost a month. I ordered both and the 5X is actually schedule for October 20 (for what it's worth). The 6P for the 25th. I'm very surprised at how long it's going to take. Legacy devices will have Marshmallow several weeks before the "first" phones with Marshmallow will even ship.

Cancelled my pre-order when I learned that the Nexus 5X has neither an LED notification light or dual front facing speakers. Those are two big things I was looking for.

No LED is a deal breaker. Blame Moto for that with their lame ass waving to see notification s**t. Screw dual front facing speakers though, just get a tablet or some nice headphones....it's better.

I dont like using a headphone while i am running, so a loud nice sounding front speaker or speakers is a must.

Just hope it does not turn out like another Nexus 4 launch where it is out of stock for 5 months.
