New Apple iPhone models will be waterproof according to rumored specs
A company that sells luxury items online, Goldgenie, has apparently posted rumored specs for the Apple iPhone 7 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus. Apple is reportedly set to unveil the new models on September 7th with pre-orders to begin two days afterward. The pair could be released on September 23rd based on an internal AT&T memo showing upcoming merchandising reset hours.

According to the Goldgenie site, the Apple iPhone 7 will feature a 4.7-inch screen with a resolution of 750 x 1334. Under the hood is the Apple A10 chipset. 2GB of RAM is inside with 16GB/64GB/128GB of native storage. A 12MP camera is on back carrying an f/2.2 aperture, and a 5MP Face Time camera is in front. The device is said to be waterproof and carries a larger capacity 1960mAh battery. The iPhone 7 weighs in at 7.1mm thick.

The Apple iPhone 7 Plus will offer a 5.5-inch screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution screen. Other differences compared to the iPhone 7 include OIS on the dual 12MP rear cameras (at least on one of the snappers), the inclusion of  3GB of RAM, and the availability of 32GB/128GB/256GB of native storage. This model measures 6.1mm thin according to the specs, which would shave 1.2mm off of the Apple iPhone 6s Plus. That certainly seems unrealistic. Unfortunately, the battery specs are not listed for the iPhone 7 Plus.

We would definitely view this with a cynical eye, and take this story with one or more grains of salt.

Thanks for the tip!

Apple still going to keep that crappy low resolution 4.7" display again. The only excuse that I can see for Apple to continue with such a low resolution display again, is for bragging rights when they compare this device to other higher resolution smartphones. Fun fact:. Apple is the only one to sell a low resolution smartphone at high end flagship prices. It truly is no wonder why Apples profits are so astronomical.

Here's why Apple won't change the screen resolution: 1. Cheaper to produce, more money to Apple. 2. Easy to power. So no lag issues at all. 3. Battery lasts long despite the pathetic capacity Apple puts in. And people don't seem to care. They still keep buying the same phone over and over for marginal gains because Apple makes their phone slow down with updates, giving in to planned obsolescence. I think Android manufacturers should rethink their strategy towards QHD on small size too. Yes, you can see the difference, but switching to oneplus 3 from S6 made me realise I don't miss that sharpness that much. And the extra performance and battery life is clearly preferable.

"And people don't seem to care. They still keep buying the same phone over and over for marginal gains because Apple makes their phone slow down with updates, giving in to planned obsolescence." As opposed to android which is slow right out of the box? LMAO how's that speed demon Note 7 working for ya? Don't forget to enable developer options and change those pesky animations in order to slightly make your phone a little less laggy. SMDH....

Dude, in no way is what he said wrong. All companies do what he said, he was just specifying Apple in this case. Samsung, HTC, Sony, LG, and Oneplus all do it because that's good business. Give people a reason to upgrade every cycle is the motto.......and there's nothing wrong with that.

My Note 7 is working awesome, love it. The Note 7 is the best phone out. Reviewers of the phone have no complaints, and its receiving critical acclaim everywhere. You even read articles "Is Samsung getting too far ahead of Apple", the "best phablet ever", "Almost perfect"

Check out the reviews if you're curious. If you don't want to spend the time, I'll summarize for you: the reviews say the Note 7 is the best large phone there is.

Fun Fact: Samsung sells a high end flagship with high end internals and specs yet cant even best a "crappy" year old iPhone, for a premium price.

Can't best it at opening and closing apps, but it can definitely best it in versatility/usefulness...

Also: "People complaining about lag on the Note 7 given its feature set, is like people complaining about bad gas mileage on a Lambo given its speed capabilities" -darkkjedii

Lambos are that fast because they arent bloated with unnecessary weight

If those are unnecessary for you, don't buy it, then shut up and be happy with your preference, you don't have to bash something that isn't for you, that also applies to the troll that you replied to above.

The screen res looks just a crisp as 2560x1440.

No, it doesn't. It doesn't look bad, but it doesn't approach the Samsung AMOLEDs.

Apple will lose about 10% of there sales if they do that. IPhone's always breaking for some reason and their users keep coming back for more. They should just by a durable phone and get it over with instead of giving apple all their money. Only Apple can resale the same phone to one person serveral times in one year. Apple banks off making fragile phones

Then how much money would Apple make from Otterbox and Urban Armor Gear?

I'm sure they could fit a 3000mah cell in there.

The only spec I was wanting to find out was the battery size on the 7Plus. I hope its at least a 2850mAhh but would love to see a 3000/3200mAh battery in it.

I wonder what term Apple will use to grab the attention of their customers. Something like "Lighting Water Resistant" using Water Repellent Materials?

9. bobby84

Antiwater, lol. They always give it a important name when it's average at what it does at best. Ex "lightning cable" and it's one of the slower charging devices. I can charger my note 7 3500mah battery faster than the 1800mah or whatever's in 4.7 iPhone with a lightning cable. Smh.

They might call it with s**t like 'i-aqua proof, the most advance water proof material in the world".. yet, it turned out to be splash proof. False marketing as usual by apple.

Once you hit your 40's probably won't tell much difference. My 1080P 55 inch tv looks Awsome. Imagine that on a 5.5 screen.
