Moto Z phones support Google's VR platform Daydream

If you own a Motorola Moto Z series phone, you might not know that your handset supports Google's VR platform Daydream. Google's Daydream website includes a list of phones that will run Daydream branded VR products. That list is a short one that includes the Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL, and the Moto Z and Moto Z Force. The Verizon exclusive DROID variants of those two are also included, of course.
Daydream, which was unveiled at Google I/O last year, includes certain hardware and software specs. Apps like YouTube, Google Maps Street View, Google Play Movies & TV, and Google Photos will provide a VR viewpoint with a Daydream certified headset. Third party apps like Hulu, Netflix and HBO NOW also will give users an "immersive experience."
Moving forward, we expect that newer high-end phones will also feature support for Daydream.

The website also shows that more Daydream enabled handsets are on the way. Those models include the Huawei Mate 9 Pro and the recently announced Asus ZenFone AR.

Last November, Google introduced the Daydream View VR headset priced at $79. Unlike the Google Cardboard VR viewer, the Daydream View is made from plastic, soft cloth, and foam.
