Apple tests iOS 26.6.1 update
It seems that a bug found in iOS 26.6 has forced Apple to release iOS 26.6.1.

On Friday, Apple released macOS 26.6.1 to fix an issue with the computer's Screen Sharing app. The update will exterminate a bug and that is no surprise since that is what typically forces Apple to release what the gang in Cupertino refers to as a "point release." Such updates usually fix bugs or security issues that can't wait for the next cycle of updates to arrive.
Apple is reportedly testing iOS 26.6.1
According to MacRumors, Apple is in the process of testing iOS 26.6.1 as the new operating system build has appeared in its visitors log. Most likely such an update, if greenlit for release, would include a bug fix or a security patch. For example, the iOS 26.6 update reportedly included a bug in the Shortcuts app, which could be the reason for the development of iOS 26.6.1.
According to several iPhone users on Reddit, the iOS 26.6 update broke Shortcuts Automation. This feature allows you to have your iPhone perform a series of actions that is set off by arriving at a certain location, opening a specific app, reaching a certain time of day, and the user's phone hitting a certain level of battery life. Perhaps the installation of iOS 26.6.1 will repair this flaw.
Siri AI cuts off long verbal prompts
Those of you on the iOS 27 beta path are currently enjoying many of the new features coming to iPhone with the next iOS build such as Siri AI. The latter is getting better with every new release. The most recent release was iOS 27 Beta 5. The only major complaint I have with Siri at this point is that when I have a long verbal prompt, Siri shuts down before I can finish saying the entire query.
The stable version of iOS 27 is expected to be disseminated in the middle of September
By the time the stable version of iOS 27 is released, Siri AI should be pretty much ready to impress iPhone users with the incredible breadth of knowledge that previous versions of Siri never had. The stable version of iOS 27 is expected to arrive in the middle of September in time for all of the new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max units to be updated to iOS 27 before they are released.
This would include the iPhone Ultra, but the first foldable iPhone might be unveiled in September but not released until as late as November, similar to the iPhone X. The latter was introduced on September 12, 2017 but not released until November 3, 2017. The delay was caused by issues with several components and there is some concern that the iPhone Ultra might repeat this pattern.
