Lightning EarPods and 3.5mm adapter coming with iPhone 7, wireless AirPods and Beats will be extra
Just as our poll respondents wished and predicted, Apple will be including new EarPods with a Lightning connector at the end in each iPhone 7 and 7 Plus box, negating the pain from removing the audio jack that most phones are currently using.

To further sooth out your sadness, and to ensure the compatibility of the iPhone 7 with your current audio gear, Apple will be throwing an 3.5mm-jack-to-Lightning adapter in the phones' box for free, too.

If you don't want to be tangled by wires, Apple has created brand new AirPods, truly wireless earbuds that go into each ear without any connection between them. These provide 5 hours of battery, which is more than most other such products on the market, and a carrying case that can charge them up to five times on the go. In addition, new Beats Bluetooth headphones enter the fray, with models offering up to 40 hours of listening on a charge, sweet.

They make it sound like it's a benefit and really it's just something more to sell you.

It made sense for Apple to include a new set of Earpods and the Lightning adapter in the box as this would help ease the transition to Lightning only. The only problem is listening to music and charging the device at the same time but maybe there will be a daisy chain accessory in the furture. As for the airpods I hope they would come in black as it would look better in darker colors.

Yup a daisy chain accessory you have to buy (and hope you don't lose).

"Apple will be throwing an 3.5mm-jack-to-Lightning adapter in the phones' box for free, too." iPhone 8:- this time, you'll have to buy the jack to lightning cable. You're on your own.

Last year they released 99$ new pencil to the market. This year they decided to boost revenue of Beats by removing 3.5mm jack

"Apple will be throwing an 3.5mm-jack-to-Lightning adapter in the phones' box for free, too." This is a pet peeve of mine, but they're not free. They're in the box and their cost is included in the package. You'd never say that you bought your car and the bumpers came with it for free.

Nah bro, with Apple, anything that wasn't in the box the year before, is a bonus. You really have to dig for positives here.

So what if I need to charge my phone and I also want to listen to music on my wired headphones. Like on a plane, train or car? Oh wait if you want that feature, you'll have to pay more... Well done to Apple. Force your consumers to adapt by having them spend more money. They didn't become the richest company for no reason ;)

No, they cost Apple less than $10 to produce that earphones, same as the cost of every other bluetooth earphones, maybe even cheaper b/c economy of scales. And they cost us only $159..

I think someone will make a case that handles both at the same time. Case makers go all out for iPhone.
