The Chuwi Hi 9 Air tablet will come with Android Oreo out of the box
With the increasingly larger size of smartphone screens over the last few years, the main casualty has been the tablet market. Sales of slates have been slipping and several Android manufacturers have slowed down development of new tablets, or have stopped designing new models altogether. However, there are still some new Android powered slates coming to market. Case in point, the Chuwi Hi 9 Air by a company named Chuwi (of course).

Unlike many of the devices made by this company, the Hi 9 Air actually sports some premium specs. First, we should tell you that it does come out of the box with Android Oreo pre-installed. There is a 10.1-inch LCD display carrying a resolution of 1600 x 2500, and under the hood you'll find a MediaTek Helio X20 chipset. 4GB of RAM is inside, along with 64GB of native storage. On back, there is a 13MP camera (with an LED flash) with a 5MP snapper in front for selfies and video chats. Keeping the lights on is a hefty 8000mAh battery.

The Chuwi Hi 9 Air slate will feature MediaTek's "WorldMode 4G LTE" which supports all 4G LTE bands and older 3G and 2G airwaves. The tablet will be released in the middle of next month, and before that happens we should see a formal announcement from Chuwi revealing price and availability.
