HTC One Android 4.4 rollout to start at the end of January 2014
Everyone wants to know when they'll be getting that upgrade to the latest and greatest of Android system versions - 4.4 KitKat - and the news has been filtering out from various manufacturers with just that information. HTC had already said that the HTC One mini and HTC One max will be getting the update "within 90 days", and now the company is giving a release window for the flagship HTC One update.

The UK HTC Twitter account sent out the word yesterday saying, "We're working with our local carriers to begin the rollout of Android 4.4 and Sense 5.5 for the #HTCOne from end of January 2014." There are a couple things to note here. First, the tweet says "local carriers", which means UK carriers in this case. But, the HTC USA account has cleared that up by tweeting, "HTC One VZW customers: delay with 4.3 update does not impact delivery of 4.4 by end of January - still on track."

So, it looks like HTC is working towards a wide rollout of the update, but that's the second point of note: HTC is saying that the rollout of the update is going to start at the end of January. That means you may not actually see the update hit your device until sometime in February.
