Results: Galaxy S8 trumps Galaxy A8 in the public eye
Samsung just launched the Galaxy A8 (2018) less than a month ago and it looks like a pretty solid midranger through and through... well until you see its price that is. With a tag of about €500 in Europe, where it's currently available, it's just €40 shy of the price of the Galaxy S8. Sure, the latter is Samsung's flagship for last year and is about to be replaced, but is it really that old that the Galaxy A8 (2018) surpasses it?

Sure, the midranger has the looks, but it does lack a certain oomph, especially when it comes to the camera. We were wondering — would people make the choice to buy the brand-new midrange model, or would they rather get the 1-year-old flagship? So, we asked. Here are the poll results:

Which would you buy: Galaxy A8 (2018) or Galaxy S8?

I demand this poll have a "Neither" option!

I'll still get one, probably in a years time when it is cheap on eBay new. I paid £190 for my a5 2017 a year after it was launched.

S7 edge. A8 is just a bit better than S6 actually. Flagships are way ahead of any mid-range phone.
