Deal: Snapdragon 820-powered ZTE Axon 7 drops down to $329 in the U.S.

If you're in the market for a powerful, flagship-level phone but would rather not spend the big bucks, you may be interested in a deal on the ZTE Axon 7. For the time being, the handset is down to just $329.99 in the United States, directly from Newegg's website.

While the ZTE Axon 7 may not have gotten the same recognition as the more popularly-branded models gracing the U.S. market, the Axon 7's specs are almost a like-for-like with the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. Under the hood, you get Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 SoC along with 4 gigs of RAM, while the 20-megapixel main camera features 4K video capture and OIS. The 5.5-inch AMOLED display is a quad-HD offering that boasts a 1440 x 2560 resolution, and there's a healthy 64 GB of expandable storage.

At this moment in time, it's listed at $359.99 over at Newegg, but if you can score yourself an additional $30 discount if you enter the discount code EMCSRFRJ6. It initially retailed for $400 when it hit the market during the middle of last year, which looked a pretty sweet deal at the time. If you don't mind rocking a lesser-known device that has become rather long in the tooth, you'll struggle to find a comparable specs sheet at this kind of price point.

If you'd like to take advantage, just hit up the source link below. The deal runs through Tuesday 9th May.

It's a great price for an inexpensive Daydream VR compatible smartphone.

It's only a non-official deal. And a temporary one at that. So no need to go ham....

I'd like to get one, but sadly the US version won't work with my country's LTE bands... and the global version is expensive AF

Agreed. I'll be a buyer at $249 which is certainly going to be the price when the Axon 8 (or whatever they will call it) drops.

Another absolute still. Android users have been spoilt with great bang for buck phones since a couple of years ago.

This would've been one of the very best phones for 2016 if it was equipped with a better camera. Everything about it screams premium.

Great deal. S8 is way overrated.
