April Android Security update includes bug fixes for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL
Information about the April Android security update has been disseminated and the update will soon be pushed out to the Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. Additionally, some Nexus handsets should receive it as well. Besides the usual security patches, the April Android security update contains 56 "functional updates" for Pixel and Nexus devices. These are fixes for bugs and other issues outside of security.

For example, the update will help reduce the delay that occurs when opening particular apps on the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. The update will also reduce battery drain on the same models, and improves Wi-Fi stability, and the quality of conference calls using Wi-Fi on the 2017 Pixel handsets. All Pixel and Nexus devices receiving the update will have a call forwarding problem resolved, and audio on phone calls will be improved.

If you own a Pixel or Nexus handset, don't ignore the April Android security update since it does fix many of the issues that have afflicted these devices. You can check out all of the bug fixes coming your way by clicking on the sourcelink.

This is why you should own a Pixel. Nothing beats getting timely, consistent updates. No other Android OEM has even come close to timely updates.

Does anyone else have issues with the speakers? My top speaker keeps going out. I love this phone but too many issues. I might just sell it and switch to the LG7 when it comes out.

The problems with this phone are probably related to LG's build quality. I wouldn't replace an LG phone with Google software for an LG phone with LG software. It's the worst of both worlds. Ideally you want an HTC phone with Google software. Best of both.
