Activate Samsung Pay on your Galaxy Note5 or Galaxy S6 edge+ and receive a free gift from Sammy
Because Samsung Pay supports retailers with NFC based POS systems, and those using Magnetic Secure Transmissions (MST), about 90% of the world's retailers can handle the mobile payment service. MST works with any retailer that swipes credit cards, which means that unlike Apple Pay and Android Pay, Samsung Pay already works nearly everywhere.

Samsung is offering a free gift to those with the Samsung Galaxy Note5 or Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ who add at least one credit card to Samsung Pay. Activate the mobile payment service on either phone with a credit card, and Sammy will send you a free flip case, or a free wireless charger. The deal ends on October 11th.

To claim your prize, when you activate a card, click on the "more" link in the top right hand corner of the screen. Tap on "announcements" and then "Samsung Pay Activation Offer." Right now, the only cards that are compatible with Samsung Pay are American Express, Bank of America, Citi card, or US Bank card.

Available in South Korea since late August, Samsung Pay was used on over $30 million of transactions during its first month in operation. The service launched in the U.S. on September 28th.

You mean Dufuq Capital One, BMO Harris and Chase! You really think Samsung doesn't want more banks to support their service?

Spoiler: SAMSUNG Pay is not available on any international new Galaxy versions. I called Samsung to active my Note 5 (purchased from eBay) and they told me that your phone is not for the Korean or US market, despite I activate it in the US on AT&T!

Actually Einstein, it's nothing like that. Verizon blocked, or removed the feature. I can't believe you were dumb enough to post that. +1 for your intelligence.

The biggest thing I run into is, the cashiers says the only phone that works here is the iPhone. When I went to macdonalds, I watched an iPhone users pay and I was like it's about time McDonald's fixed it because when I tried using it once, the manager said their store wasn't online yet to do mobile payments. So when I stepped up and ordered the guy with the iPhone was like, Samsung Pay doesn't work here like she said. I was like, how do you know if you don't have a Samsung device. He was so ready to laugh u til I bumped my phone against the terminal and it worked. He stopped smiling and was like, wow you're lucky. I was lkke, how am I lucky when my device works at more places that yours. So I showed him, the iPhone only works if you see the that symbol, while mies works even if it doesn't have the symbol. He was like, oh I didn't need know. I said yep, I get that alot.

All I know is, my card can't be used in my Note5. I don't care who it is, it's messed up. My 6S Plus was good to go out the box however.

Do you understand or know what are you saying here because it make you look like a dump!!! 2 different things with different capabilities. You can use samsung pay everywhere and samsung is not the one to blame for bank not supported its the bank. apple pay only where it accepted and still apple pay doesn't support all banks. and if you want you can use google wallet or pay. because apple pay and google wallet are the same they use the nfc.

It takes time to get banks on board. I'm so happy I only have one bank card as a backup. I don't care if my Chase card doesn't work. I only use it for purchases when I need cashback. All I need is my AMERICAN EXPRESS. Even if I leave home without it, as long as I have my phone I won't be without it.

Better implementation. Samsung can't force the banks to work with it.

You can use android pay for rest of the cards. That's what I am doing right now.

Sorry didn't get what are you trying to say. You said you can not use your cards on your note5. Whatever apple pay can do, andoid pay can do too. So on note 5 you can use samsung pay for whatever it accepts and android pay for rest. So that you will have both cards in both devices.

Only on machines that support NFC payment. You cannot take advantage with your card with the MST. I've been using my Samsung Pay at Target. The sales was like," dude, you can't use the phone to pay because the machine doesn't supports it." I used my Samsung Pay and scan it on the slot where people normally slide their card. Transaction authorized...Surprise Motherfuxker!
