AccuWeather for Android updated to support push notification for severe weather
The recent spate of bad weather in the U.S. mid-west has unfortunately led to many deaths. In one absolutely bizarre and sad case, a 5 year-old girl was ripped out of her mother's grasp during a particularly strong tornado. We don't usually cater to the macabre here, but the image of such a gruesome event could help save a future life. And that brings us to the newly updated AccuWeather app for Android.

One of the new features of the AccuWeather app for Android is push notification of severe weather. Getting a few moments of advance warning could make a difference. Another new feature of the app is a lifestyle section that will let you know which activities will be supported by the weather. You can now upgrade to the premium version of the app (look Ma, no ads!) with an in-app purchase and the UI has been updated to look more Androidish. Yup, we would say the forecast calls for plenty of downloads of this app.

AccuWeather can be found for free in the Android Market, waiting for those with devices running Android 2.1 or higher.
