AT&T to carry the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier
The just announced Samsung Gear S3 Frontier Tizen powered smartwatch already has at least one home in the U.S. as AT&T says that it will be offering the wearable. The Gear S3 Frontier will offer connectivity to AT&T's 4G-LTE network, allowing you to make and take calls directly from the watch. In addition, you will be able to go online and browse the internet from your wrist without having to pair with another device. Just for the record, Samsung is beta testing iOS support for the watch.
The Gear S3 Frontier will feature a special type of Gorilla Glass devised by Corning specifically for protection from scratches. The 1.3-inch circular screen has always-on capabilities, and features a 360 x 360 resolution. With an IP68 certification, the device will be water and dust proof. You will be able to submerge the watch in nearly 5 feet of water for as long as 30-minutes, and the watch will emerge unscathed.
As we told you earlier today, the Gear S3 Frontier features a larger battery (380mAh) that will last three to four days. With Battery Saver enabled, that doubles to six to eight days. NFC is on board to support mobile payments as Sammy is said to be working on a mobile payment service designed specifically for the timepiece. AT&T says that it will release information about pricing and availability at a later date. As soon as we obtain this information from AT&T, we will pass it on to you.

The watch includes AT&T's NumberSync. This allows you to make/take calls and text messages using the same number as your AT&T smartphone, even if the latter is turned off and is miles away. Another feature will allow you to use the Gear S3 as a remote for your devices receiving content from DIRECTV. The satellite television company was purchased by the nation's second largest carrier in 2014.
