10 great images captured with smartphones #113

We're back with the 113th post in our special photographic-centric series where we present you with a number of awesome images taken by... well, you (and your cell phones).

So, which picture did you like most last time? The answer is Linh Thuy's photo, taken with the Sony Xperia C3 Dual. And a pretty well-deserved first place it is, we should say!

Of course, there are many other incredible images left to be seen. Let's continue with another set of 10 pics, each of which can easily convince even the most professionally-inclined photographer that cell phones are more than a toy in the camera department.

Please note that if your own awesome image is not included here, this doesn't mean that it won't end up on the site. We simply might not have gotten to it yet! So, we urge you to continue following us, as we'll be publishing more of these truly great photos in the following days and weeks.

We'd also like to remind you that you can continue submitting your cool cell phone pics to the following email address:

In order to not miss on all the glory, you also have to mention your name/nickname, as well as the phone you used to take the shots. A nice additional piece of info would be a name or a short description for the image.

With that, we now leave you with our 113th set of favorite photos...

1 with the most votes? Well, strange that badly composed and exposed picture attracts so many users.

Pic 2 and 3 has no justification to be in the list .

I am surprised that you consider these photos to be great. With the only exception of the 6th photo, which is actually quite good, definitely above average, all the rest of the photos are just unacceptable as far as composition is concerned. I could forgive poor exposure of a photo taken with a smartphone, since in the vast majority of the cases the user not only doesn't have actual control on the parameters which influence exposure, such as aperture, shutter speed and sensitivity, but also even in the rare case that one or more of the these can be adjusted the actual control is very limited. As far as the 1st photo which most people voted as the best photo of the group, even basic composition rules such as a straight horizon and the rule of thirds are not satisfied. I understand that this is mainly a website about smartphone news and reviews, but it looks bad for both the website and its viewers when ignorant people comment about something they really have no idea about. In the future, I would suggest to you to either include photos of higher quality in such comparison tests, which are at least technically satisfactory from a photographic point of view, or even better simply stop entitrely such articles since they only damage the image of the website. Photography focused websites are far more suitable in making these kind of comparison tests with the added bonus that the people who vote are much more knowledgeable about photography. In short, leave this to experts.

exactly what I thought. these photos doesnt even look good enough to be considered "great" but anyway I guess it's because all other recent entries are worse so they just had to choose these ones

More flowers and sunsets and clouds. Boring.

Don't even bother... :( It's just another slideshow of badly composed, center placed, horizon tilted, saturation overboost shots of uninteresting subjects with the mandatory flower shot.

Hello everyone I have 2 questions regarding this series. 1. Is any external lenses for phones prohibited? 2. May I edit my pictures, since most of my shots are RAW or Snapseed if its JPG or is that also prohibited? Plz answer :D
