Toshiba to introduce super-thin Android tablet at IFA
Share:
According to NotebookItalia, Toshiba is set to introduce a new Android tablet half as thin as the Toshiba Thrive. Sources for Android and Me say that the new tablet is expected to have a TI OMAP4460 dual-core 1.5GHz processor under the hood. Unlike the poor selling Thrive (currently number 12 on Amazon's list of Android Tablet sales), Toshiba will be going with micro-everything like microSD port, micro HDMI slot and micro USB port. With a brushed metal cover to give the device a luxurious feel, Toshiba is aiming for the Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 crowd with this new tablet.
While the bulky Toshiba Thrive has been having problems generating sales, Toshiba probably has seen the way the public has responded to the diet-conscious models. When it comes to tablet sales, thin is in with the 8.6mm thin Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the Asus Transformer near the top of the list. Toshiba hopes for the same response with its yet to be announced tablet.

Glad they put all the different ports in, unlike Samsung. Definitely a better choice over Samsung's Apple'esque connector.
