OnePlus is setting the stage for two exciting product launches by the end of the month

An undoubtedly budget-friendly OnePlus N6 handset and some premium-looking Nord Buds 4 earbuds are officially launching on June 30 and June 25, respectively.

Just a little over a month after fully unveiling the big-battery Nord CE6 and Nord CE6 Lite mid-rangers, the brand so many of you refuse to turn your back on is preparing to further expand its most popular family of budget-friendly gadgets with not only another interesting Android handset but also a potentially unbeatable new pair of wireless earbuds... at least in terms of value for money.

The OnePlus N6 is uncharacteristically secretive

If you're familiar with how OnePlus typically likes to build buzz around its unreleased products (especially non-flagships), you'll probably be surprised to find out that the spec sheet of the impending N6 is almost completely shrouded in mystery.

That's despite the fact that the OnePlus N6 name and the phone's design are already officially confirmed, as is its pompous and pretty vague "Always on. Always Smooth" advertising slogan.

OnePlus would also like us to know that the N6 is "designed for India's young and neo generation with a New, Neo, Never Off philosophy", which of course tells us nothing about the handset's actual capabilities and specifications either. What's interesting is that, while the Nord name is shortened to N... for some reason, the fast-approaching device is very much marketed as a member of the same family, borrowing key visual elements (and, presumably, key specs too) from the already hugely popular (at least in India) Nord CE6.

The OnePlus Nord Buds 4 are far less mysterious

No, I can't tell you just yet how much the next big OnePlus earbuds will cost, but a few of their selling points are advertised and detailed on the company's official Indian website, including "pro-level" active noise cancellation, powerful 12mm titanium-coated drivers, up to 54 hours of battery life, and AI-enhanced voice call clarity.

Compared to the Nord Buds 3, these bad boys seem to rock a significantly more premium design and yet somehow stay incredibly lightweight, tipping the scales at 4.3 grams per bud. The Nord Buds 3's battery life, mind you, was said to be limited at "only" a maximum of 43 hours, and the active noise cancellation will apparently jump from up to 32dB to 52dB on the Nord Buds 4.

The non-Pro-branded OnePlus Nord Buds 4 actually sound like they might bring a few important upgrades even over the Nord Buds 3 Pro, although the Nord Buds 4 Pro and the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 are obviously set to remain the company's greatest alternatives to global bestsellers like Apple's AirPods Pro 3 and Samsung's Galaxy Buds 4 Pro.

Let's talk dates and possible price tags

Given that the Nord Buds 3 are normally priced at Rs. 2,799 ($30) in India, I expect the vastly improved OnePlus Nord Buds 4 to cost... a little more starting June 25. That regional launch date is etched in stone, mind you, while the exact price point is pretty hard to guess. Maybe 3,000 rupees or so, maybe a little more. Either way, you will definitely not need to break the bank to afford the company's next Nord-branded earbuds.

The same is likely to go for the OnePlus N6 handset, which is officially scheduled for a June 30 launch in the world's most populous nation at an unspecified price... that I believe will not exceed Rs. 31,999 ($338). That's how much (or rather how little) the Nord CE6 typically costs, and I have no reason to expect the N6 to be more sophisticated or expensive than that 6.78-inch model with a 144Hz refresh rate-capable screen and 8,000mAh battery.

How excited should you be here?

I'm afraid not that excited... if you don't live in India. That's because the OnePlus N6 and Nord Buds 4 are only confirmed to see daylight in that one (huge) market, and if history is any indication, just the latter product is likely to expand to Europe.

US availability seems almost out of the question for both budget-friendly devices after the last few months of ominous speculation, but since the N6 doesn't have a direct predecessor to speak of, I think I'll maintain my optimism for now. How amazing would it be if OnePlus decided out of nowhere to try a US comeback with an aggressively priced Android mid-ranger?
