Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book screen flickering is a thing of the past after firmware update
A firmware update sent out by Microsoft and directed toward the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book, aims to fix an issue that both devices have with a flickering screen. The Surface Pro 4 changelist includes an update to v20.19.15.4308 for the HD Graphics 520 driver. An update to the Display audio driver (to v8.20.0.659) allows it to be compatible with the updated graphics driver.

Other changes to the Surface Pro 4 include an update to the Surface Embedded Controller (v103.855.257.0) which improves system stability. And looking ahead to future functions being developed for Windows 10, the Surface Pen Settings driver was updated to v10.0.302.0.

The firmware update to the tablet/laptop hybrid Surface Book has the exact same changelist, except for one additional item that improves the physical keyboard and trackpad experience. That is the update to the Surface System Aggregator which takes it to v88.853.258.0.

If you have either device, be on the look out for the firmware update that should certainly improve the user experience of both products.
