Samsung's next Tizen flavored handset receives FCC certification
Just in case you haven't read anything about Samsung's home grown mobile OS Tizen lately, it appears that the next Samsung handset to be powered by it has received FCC certification. The SM-Z400F, most likely the Samsung Z4, has been voted most likely to be pre-installed with Tizen 3.0. As usual, dumpster diving at the FCC website doesn't provide that much info in the way of specs. However, reading between the lines, we can see that there will be a version of the phone with dual SIM capabilities (SM-Z400DS).

One thing that the FCC site usually provides is a look at the agency's label pertaining to the device in question. The Feds didn't disappoint with the Z4. Somewhere (perhaps sitting in the top of a distant castle, far removed from civilization) there is someone who just loves to look at FCC labels. Just in case you are a member of that club, we have included that image for you to add to your collection.

The 2015 Samsung Z3 featured a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 720 x 1280 resolution. Powering the phone was the Spreadtrum SC7730 SoC carrying a quad-core 1.3GHz CPU along with the Mali-400 GPU. 1GB of RAM was inside along with 8GB of native storage. Both the 8MP rear-facing camera and the 5MP front-facing selfie snapper were equipped with an aperture of f/2.2. A removable 2600mAh battery kept the lights on, and Tizen 2.3 was pre-installed.

It's been almost 18 months since the Z3 was launched; judging by the appearance of the SM-Z400F/DS at the FCC, the next Samsung Tizen powered phone is right around the corner.
