Pantech Vega Iron to take on the Galaxy S4 come April 18

UPDATE: Added a few alleged renders of the handset, hinting at the shape and the black or white color scheme. The exact dimensions are tipped to be 136.3×67.6×8.8 mm, and the Vega Iron is allegedly coming at 154 g (5.4 oz) of weight, with aluminum framing.

That thin-bezel Pantech phone rumored last week is getting fleshed out in more details now, and it turns out that the retail name could be none other than Pantech Vega Iron.

Now whether that means that the phone will be made out of metal, remains to be seen, but overall the rumor of a 5" screen seem to be confirmed once again, and the rest of the specs: 5" 1920 x 1080 display, a 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, 2 GB RAM, 13 MP rear camera, and a 2150 mAh battery. The phone is said to be conceived as a direct competitor to the Galaxy S4 in the homeland, and feature a funky "oblong" design.

Not shabby at all, and on par with the rest of the Android flagships, but what we are most interested in now is the design portion is carried out, what with the thin bezel and the Iron codename. Moreover, Pantech came up with things like gesture-navigation and ceramic chassis as far back as last year's crop, so we are keeping our hopes high. We should know pretty soon, as the unveiling is scheduled for Thursday.
