Icons for WhatsApp Voice Calls discovered

Back in September, a leaked pop-up menu confirmed that Voice Calling would be coming to WhatsApp. The menu is apparently for iPhone users who failed to give permission to the WhatsApp messaging app, to use the microphone on the phone. The leaked message even specifically mentions Voice Calls. Now, one of our loyal PhoneArena readers has discovered a treasure trove of icons, all related to making phone calls over the messaging app.

Earlier this year, Facebook purchased WhatsApp for the mind numbing total of $21 billion. Now, Facebook is left with the task of monetizing its purchase. It isn't clear if allowing subscribers to make voice calls is part of this plan, although charging users for calls to non-members could be one way to bring in revenue.

Meanwhile, our source was checking out the WhatsApp apk version 2.11.426 "in the folder drawable-hdpi-v11 & v4" when he came across the icons that you will find accompanying this article. The icons don't talk, but if they did, they would certainly scream out that Voice Calls are coming to WhatsApp soon.
