Benchmark test reveals that the LG G4 S will be powered by the Snapdragon 615 SoC

Earlier this month, we showed you a pair of renders showing off the LG G4 S. The handset resembles the LG G4 in looks, and LG is expected to market the phone as a value priced high-end model. As a result, the specs are not exactly the same as those found inside the LG G4. The LG G4 S recently made a trip to the GFXBench site where it was benchmarked, and that gives us a fresh look at the specs expected to be found on the phone.

According to the GFXBench site, the LG G4 S will feature a 5.2-inch display with a 1080 x 1920 FHD resolution. That works out to a pixel density of 424ppi. While earlier reports failed to mention which chipset the LG G4 S will employ, the benchmark test reveals that the Snapdragon 615 SoC will be driving the phone. That chipset features an octa-core CPU along with the Adreno 405 GPU. 2GB of RAM is inside. The rear-facing camera weighs in at 8MP, while a 5MP snapper adorns the front of the phone.

There is still plenty about the LG G4 S that remains unknown for now, such as the amount of native storage that will be available on the device. The capacity of the battery is also not known. Other information such as pricing and availability might not be revealed until the phone is unveiled. Considering that earlier reports had the device becoming available in the second half of next month, LG should be taking the wraps off of this model shortly.

Thanks for the tip!
