Ear Speaker Malfunction

Phone owned for

I had the same problem with my phone. I Took my phone back to alltel and told them the problem, they gave me a brand new phone right there on the spot. I also had some problems with the vibrate, where something was ratteling inside the phone. No problems with my new phone yet ...

Volume drops out on V262

Phone owned for

I just got the new Motorola V262 two weeks ago and I have already had the first one replaced because of volume (speaker) problems. I can be having a normal conversation and all of a sudden the volume will drop out and I can barely hear my party on the other end. Alltel replaced the phone with a new one and it is doing the same thing. Other than that (which is pretty major) I love the phone and it's features. Has anyone else had the same problem I am having?

Nice phone!

Phone owned for

The phone is a big step up from the T720 with regard to the RF (signal) section. I have not dropped a call on it yet and I have had it about 2 weeks..... Compared to the 2 or 3 per day on the T720, the v262 isn't bad. I like Motorola products and this fits their product line of the last few years perfectly. I have had one issue.....the backlight stays on intermittently in the dark.....every third keystroke the backlight goes off and then 3 keystrokes later it comes back on. A photocell under the bumper just to the left of the * key controls the backlight and I don't believe that this is the most robust way to handle the backlighting. I am awaiting a response from ALLTEL's tech department about the intermitent backlight and a fix and have not heard back yet. From a man who uses about 3000 minutes a month, other than the backlight, great phone!!

Pretty Good Phone

Phone owned for

I haven't had this phone for very long, but I'm pretty satisfied with it so far. It doesn't have a very large color screen, but it'll do. Though small, it has lots of colors and shows up very well.
The guy that I ordered the phone from told me that you have to have a good strong signal to access the shop, but even when I have 4 or 5 bars it will still sometimes sit there on loading, and will never go anywhere.
The voice-activated dialing speakerphone work very well, and when I'm on the phone with my friends they say that they can hear me better when I'm on speakerphone, even if its a foot from my face.
I haven't run across any problems with the voice recognition thinking I said something that I didn't.
I like the two-toned keys, it adds some variation, and I like the bright blue backlight and that you can customize how long it stays on.
The ringtones and nice and sound good and the phone can even use real tones, but they're not very loud. I'll have my phone in my pocket and it will take me a minute to realize it's ringing.
The only other drawback that I can think of about the phone is that it doesn't come with any games on it, which is something that I enjoy when I'm in the car for a long time.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone that can hear well and that doesn't mind having to pay to download games. I'm satisfied with it, and you definitely get your money's worth. So if your contemplating getting this phone, I say-Go For It!
