This is what Google has to say for the definition of prime: A state or time of greatest strength, vigor, or success in a person's life. This is not a great, strong, or successful phone. It is as useful as a single brick! I had the Pantech Impact, and then that broke. For my birthday I got this phone for $99.99 at an AT&T store. As I said before this was a $99.99 brick. It worked fine for the first few months, and then the trouble came.
The touch screen is not like the iPhone at all! You have to press really hard, and even then it still is quirky. The screen has always been bad. The problems really started happening when I tried calling someone and it said "Emergency Calls Only" I restarted it and it worked just fine. About a week later it did the same thing. After that it did it every day. Now it says "Emergency Calls Only" about every hour. I had it! I went to the AT&T store and they gave me a new sim card at no charge. The phone worked fine for about a week. It started acting up again so I went back to the AT&T store. The person I was talking to was very helpful, but she had to call lg warranty service. After about 30 minutes the person on the other end told us that when you first turn on your phone the network would send it data packets to tell the phone where all the cell towers are. She then told us that she would resend those packets because it might not of received all of them. The phone worked great for another two weeks. After that it did its Emergency Calls Only stuff again. We went back into the AT&T store and they called lg again. They did the same thing and it still told me Emergency Calls Only. After that we went back to the AT&T store and the salespeople had to lie to the lg customer support in order to get a warranty replacement. When they sent me my replacement, it was a refurbished phone! About a month after it arrived, it started the Emergency Calls Only stuff again, so I am just going to have to wait it out until my contract expires and I can get a Samsung.
This is the worst phone I have ever purchased. I'm returning it for a refund. I have read other posts and can only surmise that the people that rated it favorably either 1. Work for LG (a company that I am fond of by the way) or 2. Never owned a PDA with a touch screen before like a Blackberry, Droid or iPhone.
The LG Prime is not worth the money i paid for it.....I have had it for less than 3 months and the screen has malfunctioned......I can't use anything on the left side of my screen....can't get into my contacts, my stuff or use the web which i just paid 25.00 for a week ago!!!! I can't reply to messages because when i touch the reply it expands all!! When someone calls and i try to answer the call it registers as i touched the ignore.....When i dial a number if i touch the 4 it registers as 5....My phone has never had any damage done to it.....This phone is a piece of crap....save your money don't buy it.....I have looked this phone up on the computer and lots of people are having the same problem as i am.....Also i can't recalabrate it either!!!
as rough on phones as i am, this one has held up better than the ones of the past. all in all it really is a good phone, as long as you take VERY good care of it. and for the price of the phone, and 20.00 a month for unlimited txt and you can add as much $ as you need for the calls..its totally worth it!(:
This is a really nice phone, especially for the 99 dollar price. It does pretty much everything i like to do. Hold up to 16 gb chip, so its like a miniture i phone. It does have a small screen for texting but overall its not bad.at allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
This phones really good.
Camera's good quality.
Easy to txt.
Doesn't freeze.
& the batterys goood.
But after a year, the touchscreen messes up & you have to get another phone.
That's what happened to me but it only happens if you drop it a lot,
So don't drop it.
But this phone is really good.
i don't even need to charge it, the battery's really good.
The phone tends to be a decent phone, The service is excellent for the most part. The phone gets scratchs VERY EASY! And the keyboard is very small. Also At&t does not have a plan that has unlimted internet(data) Otherwise its a okay phone for the Price?
P.S battery is very poor
Well i had the Neon and it was, well i'll say dissapointing, not worth the 100$ i paid, but this phone has changed my mind. The touch screen, very responsive, broswer is just fine, and the call quality is fantastic.the full keyboard is great, and i love all the bells and whistles.the fact that the music player can continue playing by itself, even when your doing something else, puts the simple minded neon to shame, seriously
And i love the light weight yet durable build, yea screen is easily scratched, but i mean come on you didnt expect to text and touch on plexiglass did you?.
If this is your first ever touch screen phone, you may think its great, but since my first phone had broke, i had to get this one. It is a poor performer in my opinoin but in terms of call qquality, it does exceptional. Text input is not upto par and can get very anoying.
This phone is ok until u get into the second month. I am on my 2nd replacement phone because the touch keeps going out on it and i rarely use the phone. The price was rite but i should have kept the lg neon. Overall love the phone, I just wish the touchscreen would push what i press!!!!! Plus reception is pretty good.
This phone is decent but it has big problem,It doesnt send my texts half the time!!I got the phone for texting & it hardly does it.My screen is scatched up bad & its been from my nails.I would recommend this for people who dont text...It freezes a lot,& its tragic :(
Good Phone, one of my complaints which really annoys me is that the phone does not have a sensor. Another complaint is the texting. It is fairly easy, but the keys are small so you have to get use to it. I dont like the rounded edges, it makes it more of a girl-phone. The call quality isn't the best; it will be real loud, then get very quite. The Camera IS TERRIBLE.. 2 Mega-pixels really does suck. Internet is okay. Overall, good phone. This phone is proven better than the LG Cookie, but the LG Cookie, personally, has better colors.
So recently I lost my previous phone, the Lg Vu, and I needed a quick replacement. Since my phone was on a 2 year contract, they didn't really have too many phones to offer me...in fact this was the only touch screen one. Compared to the Lg Vu, it is very similar but really quite a notch up.
It's pretty durable, I get pretty good reception everywhere, calls sound great for the most part too. The internet is decent despite the fact that when you scroll it takes a second for the rest of the page to load. This phone comes with many fun features such as a really cool photo editing software, Bluetooth, instant messaging and my favorite, a radio. A neat thing about the texting is that you can view it in a conversation mode, which I really like. The display is VERY colorful and I love it. This phone also holds a charge pretty well compared to my old phones. If you’re a music person this phone is nice to for it can double as an mp3 player. Did I mention this phone actually has a normal head phone jack?
One thing that lacked for me however, is the camera quality, the photos turn out very noisy and pixilated, but with the fantastic photo editing software can be easily fixed in most cases. Another thing is that this phone cannot support you tube videos.
Overall this phone is pretty awesome with all its features and vivid display. What little things the phone lacks, its other nice features make up for it and then some. I highly recommend this phone.
Had the phone for a little while and dropped it the screen has a slight scratch on it alredy so i put a screen protector on it, i do love the 2mp cam on it and the keyboard takes a little bit to get used too, i wish the screen was more sensitive and more i guess accurate along with being a little bit less laggy in the UI but after moving up from a i465 clutch on boost mobile this thing is a dream! fast texting clean crisp screen loads of apps and even a photoshop like tool built into the phone that can make your photos look great! over all a great phone, was easy to move my contacts and photos and ringtones from my i465 clutch via bluetooth.
i just got this phone and its better then the other phones i got and got all the features, cause everytime it gets better it skips features, iv brought every $100 phone theyve had. like last was the LG neon, the one before it i had had radion and mp3 AND came with headphones. so with this i really have no complaints..they did a good job givin us something better and cheaper..mines was only $103 and thats with tax
Ive really had no problems with this phone whatsoever. Call quality is excellent. features are numerous, and txting is awesome. I have no disappoinments. The touch is very responsive in my opinion. No phone is perfect tho, there is one thing that bothers me, how sensitive the touch screen is, if you drop it, it will scratch, but i cant really say that has to do with the phone, most touch screens are this way. so really no complaints! if you are looking for a good, no contract/credit check, cheaper phone, this is the best choice.
I got this phone to replace one i went swimmin with by accident. I was in dire need of a phone so i thought. So i went to Walmart and got a go phone that i could just put my sims card into. I love it. The txtn is greaat and i like how wen you call it as the green thingy on the bottom for an answer thing. Its like a mini iphone. Load apps and everything. Overall--- great phone!!!
Ive had this phone for about a week and ima lready on my seconfd one due to activation problems, otherwise i really like the amount of features this phone has. The camera quality is amazing for only being a 2 megapixel, games are awesome, the texting takes a little getting used to, but overall a very good phone.
It is pretty much the perfect phone. It was everything that I wanted it to be. I would recommend this to anyone who likes the phone with no contract.
This little gem impresses to no end even for a prepaid with out spending a arm and a leg .. now I have noticed a lot of the reviews complain about the browser , have any of you thought to dl a new one ? ATT will probably smight me for telling you all this but i use mine with opera 4.2 mobile.. which chills on the battery consumption, goes easy on your data plan and most of all renders 40 times faster than the stock browser
I DO NOT like bills or contracts so I only go pre-paid. I was looking for a pre-paid "smart" phone recently...with little hopes for success...but came across this little gem. I could not be more pleased! It offers everything I was looking for and pulls it all off well:textingcameravideomusicThe web access and app catalog are limited, but if that stuff doesn't thrill you much - like me - then this phone is a kick. And don't get me wrong, the web access, though not 3G, 4G, or any G, is still pretty speedy for simple things like updating Facebook and Twitter and checking email. Very pleased so far!
I had sold my iPhone 3GS in preparation for the iPhone 4, but decided to wait after all the release and reception issues. So, having come from an iPhone, my replacement/temporary phone had to meet a few standards.
Because I wasn't eligible for an early upgrade price on any phone other than the iPhone, price was a major issue. At $100, this was definitely a plus. I didn't bank on getting a sturdy phone that I would be using for more than a month or two, but I was amazed at the quality of this phone. Sure, it's got a super-plasticky feel, but it's on par with most of the early Verizon touchscreen phones.
The ability to listen to music was a major necessity in a phone, and this one does a pretty good job at replacing the iPhone. The phone accepts microSD cards up to 16GB, so space is ample, and after the initial database refresh, the music player is superfast. No iTunes support, of course, but you can drag-and-drop, or use Windows Media Player if you'd like. It plays all major file types, and haven't had any compatible issues yet. Also notable is that files shorter than 30 seconds can be used as ringtones. Nothing groundbreaking, but a great feature from a PAYG phone.
The browser is another big necessity. The Prime is able to load in full html, but zoomed out, all text is unreadable, and zoomed in it is impossible to read more than half a sentence at a time without having to scroll back and forth. WAP sites a definitely your best bet for browsing. As far as speed, well, it's not a 3G phone, so we can't expect miracles. But for the price, it's a pretty fast browser; I've never waited more than ten seconds for a page to load.
Call quality takes a back seat for me, as I'm more of a texter, but I haven't ran into any problems with audio or dropped calls. Texting is pretty simple, and it's possible to sort texts in a threaded view, which is a major plus. The keyboard is a little cramped, and, unless you have the time and patience to devote both hands and intense concentration to the text, I found myself changing to the standard numeric T9 enabled keyboard sometimes. But picture, video and audio messaging lend for a full experience.
One major letdown was the app suite available. There are a few apps and games, but they're the same games created for non-touchscreen phones, so the experience is crippled. The Mobile Email application is severely lacking, and isn't free, so I'm going without that for now. Coming from an iPhone, it was hard to go without accelerometer-based games and endless productivity apps. But the Mobile Banking app and the browser is enough to get me through the day, so at least this phone keeps me from being anti-social and having my face buried in my phone 24/7.
Camera quality is nothing special: 2MP. While it is pretty sufficient for a phone, it doesn't take very nice pictures indoors or in low-light conditions. Video is there too, but the frame rate is pretty low, so don't rely on this to capture memories or anything.
Overall, like I've said, this phone does a great job. Granted, it's taken me a week or two to become comfortable with the OS and the different touchscreen technology (iPhone was capacitive, and I definitely miss it...), but I think it may actually serve as my phone for longer than I'd initially thought. Well worth the buy, and I highly recommend this to anyone (with small fingers and some patience).
well bought this to replace a broken samsung eternity, its pretty good phone, it works on edge which is better in my area, 3G phones have trouble here, every since ATT went to 3G service has been poor, this phone has two big problems, the browser is VERY slow to render, if you scroll down a web page you see a checkered screen for about 1 or two seconds, then the web page appears, seems to be a slow processor, also touch screen way to sensitive , I have had it a week and may have to return it because texting is a nightmare because of sensitivity of screen, does not seem to be a way to adjust sensitivity.
I just purchased this litle phone today. But it appears to have a lot of the same features as most of the touch screen phones i had in the past. i am no expert but for the money you can' t beat this deal. Especially considering what you get (or don't get) with other go-phones from the same carrier.
I bought this phone to replace my old beat up phone which i was woried about break. When i got it I notice alot of crackling and static when i made the call. I know its the phone and not the network because I have a $20 really beat up samson prepayed phone that gets perfect reception when i put my sim in it. It took me a little bit to replace the phone which was a real pain. When i got the new phone and took it out of the store i noticed the crackling came back. It was hard to hear the crackling in the store with the music they were playing. over all i am not that satisfied with this phone. if an old beat up $20 samsung gets better reception then a new $100 lg that might say something
