Google just launched the Pixel 10 lineup – including the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL and the foldable Pixel 10 Pro Fold. And the event was packed with AI talk and a bunch of new AI-powered features, too, but apparently, that wasn’t enough, because the company is already rolling out more big updates.
Earlier this year, Google introduced AI Mode in Search, and now it is getting a pretty big upgrade. The whole idea is simple: make Search not just about answers, but about actually helping you do things. Starting today, AI Mode is becoming more personalized, more “agentic” (yep, that means it can actually handle tasks for you), and it’s also going global.
Until now, AI Mode was limited to the US, UK and India. But Google just flipped the switch in over 180 more countries. English is still the only supported language for now, but Google promises more are coming soon.
The real magic here is in the new agentic abilities. For example, you can ask Google to help book a dinner with friends, specifying party size, date, time, location and even the type of cuisine you are in the mood for.

Instead of you bouncing between five different apps or websites, AI Mode will scan platforms like OpenTable, Resy, and Tock, check real-time availability, and then show you a list of restaurants that fit your request – complete with open reservation slots. From there, you just pick what works and finalize the booking. Google basically does the legwork and hands you the best options.

Behind the scenes, this is powered by Project Mariner (Google’s live web browsing tech), its Search partner integrations, the Knowledge Graph, and Google Maps. All of that works together to make AI Mode feel less like “just search” and more like a personal assistant.
That said, there is a catch – at least for now. The reservations feature is only available to people in the US who subscribe to the pricey Google AI Ultra plan through Labs. If you are opted in, AI Mode can also remember your past conversations and searches, so the results you see line up better with your preferences. Google is starting small with dining-related requests but plans to expand to things like local service bookings and even event tickets.

And since not everything is a solo mission, Google is even adding a way to share. If you are planning a trip or throwing a party, you can hit the “Share” button on an AI response and invite someone else into the conversation. They can ask their own follow-up questions and you can remove access at any time if you don’t want them in there anymore.
So yeah, Google is doubling down on AI everywhere you look. It is no secret that it sees AI as the future, and right now, it is trying to outpace OpenAI, its biggest rival. ChatGPT already has agentic powers that can carry out tasks for you, but now that Google’s AI Mode is smarter, more personalized, and rolling out globally, I’d say it is only a matter of time before we see OpenAI respond with some big updates of its own.
