But first, we'll see what the iPhone 18 Pro is all about. | Image by fpt.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max, the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone Ultra – Apple's first-ever foldable – are almost here (expect them in September) but 2027 is even more important for Cupertino.
That's when Apple is expected to release no less than six new iPhones.
Also, the iPhone turns 20 years old in 2027 and it's only natural to expect the anniversary model to top the best iPhones to buy list.
What are we looking forward to in 2027?

You may've heard already that Apple plans to split the iPhone release events. Because of that, certain models will most likely appear in 2026, while others will remain on hold until the start of 2027.
The aforementioned 18 Pro Max, 18 Pro and the foldable iPhone are expected in 2026. This means that the baseline iPhone 18 and the budget-friendly iPhone 18e are set to be unveiled at the start of 2027.
Add to that the possible iPhone Air 2, and we're looking at the eventuality of kicking off 2027 with three brand-new iPhone models.
When are you planning to get a new iPhone?
More iPhones!
However, that's not the end of the story. In September 2027 (if Apple sticks to its traditions), the next series of iPhones will be released.
This would be the iPhone 20 family, as Apple will most likely skip the 19 moniker in favor of 20, since the iPhone turns 20 in 2007.

If the split experiment goes well in the 2026–2027 season, there's no reason to expect Apple to ditch it for the 2027–2028 period.
Which means that we'll get the Pro models and the eventual iPhone Ultra 2 in 2027, while the vanilla iPhone 20 and the iPhone 20e (accompanied by the alleged iPhone Air 3) are reserved for 2028.
Lots of Apple phones on the horizon
So, we're looking at no less than six new iPhone models in 2027. The popular and reliable tipster Digital Chat Station also says so (but they still refer to next year's iPhone as the iPhone 19 and not the iPhone 20):

Based on Digital Chat Station's claims, the iPhone Air 2 will come with a 6.55-inch LTPO OLED display, the iPhone 18 – with a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED panel and the iPhone 18e – with a 6.12-inch OLED display, making it the smallest in the bunch.
As we reported, the iPhone 18e is expected to stick with a 60Hz panel instead of the 120Hz ProMotion display that the other models are getting. Let's hope this rumor turns out to be wrong.
