We are mere days away from Qualcomm’s biggest event of the year: the Snapdragon Summit, where the company is expected to unveil its next-gen Snapdragon chipsets - the platform that's going to power next year’s best Android phones and tablet.

So I thought: what a great time to sit down for a quick interview with Qualcomm’s Christopher Patrick, who's SVP and General Manager of Handsets.

We spent the first part of our conversation talking about the current flagship - the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which proved to be a spectacular chip with great thermal management and breakthrough performance.

Chris discussed a little bit of the magic that happens behind the scenes as Qualcomm is designing its chipsets, often in partnership with some of the major device manufacturers out there.

Finally, we looked forward to the next-generation Snapdragon chipsets, which are bound to be revealed very soon. Qualcomm has already revealed some details about them, including the impressive 5 GHz maximum clock speed of the future chip.
