The CMF Clip Pro, the company's first open-ear earbuds, are here with a funky design and a killer price tag

Want to stand out from the crowd? This is a way to do it.

If one has the seemingly impossible task of buying brand-new earbuds that—

  • Promise a decent sound
  • Come with a super funky design
  • Don't break the bank

—well, in that case, one is probably looking at the new CMF Clip Pro. The company's first open-ear earbuds check all the boxes above, and best of all, they'll come to the US earlier than to the EU.

These clip for real

As you can see on the promotional images, the CMF Clip Pro is a pretty special pair of earbuds.

CMF (a sub-brand of Nothing's) points out that the "carefully balanced" three-point support system is what makes pressure distribution possible, instead of concentrating it in a single point. The fit should be secure enough for work, commuting, exercise and "everything in between" (dear pogo aficionados, please don't take the "everything" part literally).

There's an elastic titanium wire core which helps the C-bridge to fit any ear shape. The earbuds are super light, too, weighing just 5.9 grams per earbud.

Are you open to an open-ear listening session?

CMF says its new Clip Pro earbuds are designed for people who want to listen to music or take calls without blocking out the sounds around them. That's what the "open-ear" part actually means.

The Clip Pro pair features 10.8 mm dual-magnet drivers and includes CMF's Ultra Bass Technology, which is meant to boost low frequencies and reduce distortion to compensate for the limitations of the open-ear design.

The earbuds are also Hi-Res Audio certified and support LDAC, AAC and SBC codecs, allowing for higher-quality wireless audio on compatible devices. They are designed to provide better sound while still letting users remain aware of their surroundings.

Cool features

The Clip Pro uses four microphones and voice processing to reduce background noise during calls, helping make voices easier to hear in noisy places such as busy streets, cafes or windy outdoor areas.

The earbuds also include a Sound Seal feature that aims to reduce sound leakage, making music and calls less audible to people nearby. Users can adjust this feature through the Nothing X app. That's what I call a nice touch.

The charging case is another favorite of mine, as it includes a rotating Smart Dial that lets you control volume, playback, calls and pairing without reaching for your phone. The earbuds themselves use physical buttons instead of touch controls. Another big selling point for those who favor physical buttons.

Battery life is rated at up to 10 hours on a single charge or up to 32.5 hours with the charging case. A 10-minute charge provides up to four hours of playback. Other features include Bluetooth 5.4, dual-device connectivity, a low-latency mode, Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair, IP54 water and dust resistance and additional settings in the Nothing X app.

How much do these cost?

The CMF Clip Pro will be available in the UK, US and Japan on 15 August in three colors (Dark Grey, Light Grey and Coral) for $99/£79 at Nothing's official website and select partners.

For Europe and markets across the world, the Clip Pro will be available on 15 September.

Interestingly enough, the CMF Clip Pro will not be available in India and given how popular Nothing and CMF are there, there'll be many disappointed users.
